Its introduction to Greece and Italy is attributed to Alexander the Great. From the year 70 BC on, the Romans diffused the apricot in the whole of Europe.

Fruit: The roundish fruit initially has a greenish yellow and afterwards a dark yellow or orange skin.

Taste: The apricot is juicy and has a typical sweet-sour taste.

Ripeness: Only fruits that are picked tree-ripened develop their full flavour. Harvest time is between the mid of July until the mid of August.
